What a wonderful weekend. I know it looks cold and, if you were standing outside in your Speedo, yes, it would have been cold. However, with fleece-lined pants, long johns, long-sleeved shirt, sweatshirt, two neck warmers, vest, coat, gloves, hat, and packs, it was just right.
Sunday was perfect weather, a bit foggy but no wind and just enough chill to sting my cheeks. We managed to sort the heifers out of the “old cows” with the help of the cats on the chute. All were accounted for! The rest of the cows were baited home following the tractor and a bale. They almost lost faith after about 30 minutes but we made it home!
Snort worked wonderfully for me yesterday. We had nearly 175 head shoved up the hill all by ourselves but they missed the gate and we had to do it again but she was all game! She did look like she was ready for a nap when we were done though. She looked like a worker bee with her frosty whiskers. What a gal.
I always feel blessed when I get to go out and work with Curtis. I was productive and had to use my head. Plus – I was MILES away from the brownies on the counter, which is my answer to willpower….
